Known imperfection of zero-valent iron nanoparticles slurries is their degradation (oxidation of zero-valent iron). To achieve the highest efficiency of nZVI product the earliest application since manufacturing is essential, leading to long-term storage impossibility in practice. nZVI slurries are also not very advisable for a new product development and further modification in regards of partial nanoparticle surface passivation; dry powder nanoparticles modification and application into the off-shelf liquid appears to be far preferable by contrast.

NANO IRON, s.r.o. is aware of stability, reactivity and persistence requirements of nZVI slurries, as well as demands on a new product development requiring various liquids utilization for nZVI slurry manufacturing in research laboratories and industrial sites. Therefore the Laboratory dispersing unit LD 05 is placed on the market for nZVI slurry manufacturing from the dry nano-powder (NANOFER 25P). Industrial dispersing unit DI 50 for large-volume production is also available.

 

One of the biggest problems our customers are dealing with is the identification of active agents, represented by zero-valent iron nanoparticles in delivered slurries. Only the quantity and size of reactive nanoparticles determines the efficiency of slurry. One of the most common used analytical method, Mössbauer spectroscopy, is difficult and very expensive for most of our customers. On this account NANO IRON company is placing the nZVI TESTER on the market, allowing simple, fast and relatively fine measurement of zero-valent iron concentration in a slurry, even under field conditions.
